The @josmiceli' solution is wrong.
I came to fix it and to provide a correct solution.
Jim + June + Alex = 82
(x+9) x + (x-8) = 82
3x +1 = 82
3x = 82 - 1 = 81
x = 81/3 = 27.
ANSWER. June is 27 years old; Jim is 27+9 = 36 years old; Alex is 27-8 = 19 years old.
CHECK. 27 + 36 + 19 = 82. ! Correct !

3J = 108
The eldest person, Jim, or
