From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakh)

A lakh (/læk, lɑːk/; abbreviated L; is a unit in the Indian numbering system
equal to one hundred thousand (100,000; scientific notation: 10%5E5).

Solution

They should divide this amount in the ratio Kane to Abel as 7 to 9.

It is easy to calculate mentally.

There are 7 + 9 = 16 equal parts; each part of 320000%2F16 = 20000 rupees.

Kane obtains 7*20000 = 140,000 rupees.

Abel obtains 9*20000 = 180,000 rupees.
