The two triangles are similar, having two pairs congruent angles 


Having two pairs congruent base angles, their corresponding sides are the pair of legs and the pair of bases.


Therefore, the proportion takes place


    leg%5B1%5D%2Fbase%5B1%5D = leg%5B2%5D%2Fbase%5B2%5D,   or   17%2F10 = x%2F8.     <<<---=== just fixed after notice by @greenestamps . . . 


From the last proportion,  x = %288%2A17%29%2F10 cm  = 136%2F10 cm = 13.6 cm for the leg of the second triangle.    ANSWER
