Question 1136728: The shape of a water tank is mounted on lorry is cylinder with 2 hemisphere stuck to each of its ends.the uniform thickness of a tank is 7cm the total length of the tank is 700cm and diameter is 56cm the tank is full of water the entire water filled in water containers if the capacity of each containers is 672cm.cube find the required number of containers

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The diameter of the cylinder and of the hemispherical end caps is 56cm, so the radius is 28cm.

Since the thickness of the tank is 7cm, the inside radius of both cylinder and hemispheres is 21cm.

Since the length of the entire tank is 700cm, the length of the cylindrical portion of the tank is 700-56 = 644cm.

Then the volume of the cylinder is

%28pi%29%28r%5E2%29%28h%29+=+%28pi%29%2821%5E2%29%28644%29

And the volume of the sphere (the two hemispherical end caps) is

%284%2F3%29%28pi%29%2821%5E3%29

The number of 672 cubic centimeters required to empty the tank is then the total volume of the tank, divided by 672.

Use your calculator.... (my answer is about 1400)
