Question 1135019: Members of a community center are planning a field trip to the zoo. More than 50 people will go on the trip. Ten people are providing their own transportation. The rest of the people will ride in k vans. Each van can carry 5 people.
Which inequality can be used to show the situation?
5k + 10 > 50
5(k+10) > 50
I narrowed it down to 2 answers, but I am wondering if I should choose the one with or with out parenthesis. Do the parenthesis affect the answer of the inequality and end up with the wrong answer?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

inequality that can be used to show the situation is
5k+%2B+10+%3E+50+....solve for k
5k++%3E+50-10+
5k++%3E+40+
k++%3E+40%2F5+
k++%3E+8
so, if ten people are providing their own transportation, the rest of the people will ride in more than 8 vans
