If x is the number of the student tickets, then the number of the adult tickets is 3x.


The "revenue" equation is


3*x + 4*(3x) = 300


3x + 12x = 300


15x = 300  ====>  x = 300%2F15 = 20   student tickets.           ANSWER


Then the number of adult tickets is 3*20 = 60.              ANSWER
