Is this two separate equations without a question? Or is this a system to solve, one with rational coefficient? If a system, then:

system%2824=5x%2B6y%2C24=5x%2B6y%29, therefore a single linear equation in two variables; infinite solutions fitting on a single line.

.
Write both equations in the standard form of the system of 2 equations in 2 unknowns

  5x + 6y = 24
2.5x + 3y = 12

Notice that the first equation is exactly the second equation after multiplying both its sides by 2.

So, these two equations are EQUIVALENT and, actually, represent one (the same) straight line.

So, the system is dependent. It has infinitely many solutions.

You can have any value for x; then the corresponding value for y will be y = %2824-5x%29%2F6.

Solved.
