could you please solve for x the following problem.
e to the power of 3x-7 multiplied by e to the power of -2× = 4e.
my answer was x=11 however the textbook says 8 + ln4
e3x-7e-2x = 4e

add exponents of e on the left

e3x-7-2x = 4e

ex-7 = 4e

Divide both sides by e which means we subtract 1 from the
exponent of e, and just get 4 on the right

ex-7-1 = 4

ex-8 = 4

Take the natural log of both sides:

ln(ex-8) = ln(4)

Move the exponent in front of the natural log:

(x-8)ln(e) = ln(4)

Since ln(e) = 1

(x-8)1 = ln(4)

x-8 = ln(4)

Add 8 to both sides:

x = 8 + ln(4)
