Mark x mph
Imani x+9 mph
Mark's distance is x mph*4 hours or 4x miles
Imani's distance is (x+9) mph*3 hours or 3x+27 miles
Since one caught the other, the distances are equal
4x=3x+27
x=27 mph Mark ANSWER
x+9=36 mph Imani
3 hours for Imani is 108 miles
4 hours for Mark is 108 miles
