d%2F4 - d%2F5 = 1%2F2  of an hour.


To solve it, multiply both sides by 20. You will get


5d - 4d = 10

d = 10.


Answer.  The distance between your house and office is 10 kilometers.

d = 5(t)
d = 4(t + 0.5)
