Question 1131521: At 4:00 PM, a turkey is taken out of the oven when its internal temperature reaches 375*F. At 4:30 PM, it has cooled to 325*F. If the turkey cools according to exponential decay, what will its temperature be at 5:00 PM (nearest degree)?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
375%2Ab%5E%281%2F2%29=325

b%5E2=325%2F375

b%5E%281%2F2%29=13%2F15

b=0.751
-
A=375%2A0.751%5Et

Temperature should be 282 F at 5 PM.

As formulated and presented, this problem inexplicitly assumes that the environment temperature is 0°F, i.e. -17.8°C.

The solution and the answer from the post by @josgarithmetic assume the same, too.

If such an input looks inappropriate to you (as it looks absurdist to me), then the problem must be re-formulated
by assigning more appropriate environment temperature.

From the problem formulation, it is clear that it is created by the person, not familiar with Physics (with the Newton's cooling law, in particular).

And even not familiar with the way on how such problems are formulated in the school Math.
