Is it "a complementary angle?" If so, complementary to what other angle?
----------
or the complementary angle?

complementary angles two angles whose sum is 90°
if one angle is alpha, a complementary angle will be beta
alpha%2Bbeta=90°

if angle alpha measures 6° less than the measure of a complementary angle,we have
alpha=beta-6
beta=alpha%2B6

and, we have
alpha%2Balpha%2B6=90
2alpha=90-6
2alpha=84
alpha=42

and, a complementary angle will be
beta=42%2B6
beta=48

x, a complimentary angle
x-6, the angle which is the other complementary angle

x%2B%28x-6%29=90
