You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let the larger number is x and the smaller number is y
If the larger of two numbers is four times the smaller and their difference is six, then we have:
x+=+%28x-y%29%2F4
since their difference is x-y+=+6, we have
x+=+6%2F4
or
x+=+1.5

so, the larger number is:1.5
and the smaller number is: x-y+=+6 => x-6+=+y
=> y+=+1.5+-+6+=+-4.5
check:
x+=+%28x-y%29%2F4
1.5+=+%281.5-%28-4.5%29%29%2F4
1.5+=+%281.5%2B4.5%29%2F4
1.5+=+6%2F4
1.5+=+1.5
