Not as 3p2-11p-20
but
as 3p^2-11p-20

You want to find two unknown numbers so that their product is -20 and so when you would perform the multiplication of the two binomials and simplify, the p term has coefficient -11. You can make all possible combinations and test each of them until the one that works is found.
