Get all the terms of the equation in terms of log base x+2:

Use the rule for addition of logs:

Equate the arguments and solve:

4-x+=+x%28x%2B2%29
4-x+=+x%5E2%2B2x
x%5E2%2B3x-4+=+0

x+=+-4 or x+=+1
