"Had he left his house at 8:30 kph"
Is 8:30 the time or the speed? What is the speed if he leaves his house at 8:30?

What time should he arrive at the office?
:
Wait a minute, he leaves at 8 and is early. He leaves at 8:30 and is late!
This does not make sense unless he went much slower than 2 kph at 8:30.
