Question 1128283: Write an equation describing the relationship of the given variables.
y varies jointly as x and the square root of z and when x = 8 and z = 49,then y = 840.
*I know that the formula is z=kyx, but every time I go plug in the variables in each appropriate place the answers are wrong. My answers so far have been k= 840/ 8 sqrt(49), k=840/ 8 sqrt(7), and y= 840/ 8 sqrt(49). If someone can help explaining how to correctly set up joint variation equation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write an equation describing the relationship of the given variables.
y varies jointly as x and the square root of z and when x = 8 and z = 49,then y = 840.
y = kx*sqrt%28z%29
8k*sqrt%2849%29 = 840
8k * 7 = 840
56k = 840
k = 840/56
k = 15
the equation
y+=+15x%2Asqrt%28z%29
