The verb  "assist"  in this context means that you do the major part of the work,  while an assistant helps you
in some elements of the second plan.

But in  THIS  case I do not see any work from your side,
so,  in my opinion,  you  INCORRECTLY  use this word  (this term)  "assist".


You may ask  "show me please how to . . .",  or even better,  "Teach me please on how to . . . " -
they are much more adequate words . . .
