You mean, f(x)=4x^2-7x+3, and want x for f(x)=0 ?

4x%5E2-7x%2B3=0

Either factorize, if possible, or use general solution formula.

.

First, write this formula " f(x)- 4x^2-7x+3 " in a correct way.

Second, they ask you to do very trivial and routine thing: to solve a quadratic equation.

If you are stuck in it, then start learning on how to solve a quadratic equation.

See the lessons
    - Introduction into Quadratic Equations
    - PROOF of quadratic formula by completing the square
in this site.

If even after that you will be in stuck, it will mean that you are in wrong class.
