Question 1127151: a university claims that 60% of its entering freshmen graduate within 5 years. a freshman class of 1100 is monitored for 5 years. at the end of that period it is found that 650 of these freshmen had graduated. what is the probability that we would have found 650 or less of these freshman had graduated by that time if in fact the claim of 60% was correct.
I really just need to know the formula for this. Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! the point estimate of the proportion is 650/1100=0.591
The formula will be
z<(0.591-0.600)/sqrt(0.6*0.4/1100)
solve for z and then find the probability.
