You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the first set of equation is:

x + 2y = 7 and 3x + 5y = 17

Multiply EQN(1) by 3 and subtract it from the second equation. We get:

3x + 6y = 21
3x + 5y = 17
===========
y = 4

Substituting in one of the equations we can find the value of x

x + 2(4)= 7

==> x = 7 - 8

==> x = -1

The second set of equations are:

x + 3y = 8 and 4x - 3y = 2

Adding the equations we get:

x + 3y = 8
4x - 3y = 2
===========
5x = 10

==> x = 10%2F5

x = 2

By back substitution we can find the value of y.

2 + 3y = 8

3y = 8 - 2

3y = 6

y = 6%2F3

y = 2

thus the solution
