You can put this solution on YOUR website!
c = number of children tickets sold
a = number of adult tickets sold

a + c = 305
5a + 3.75c = 1300

Multiply the first equation by 5.

5a + 5c = 1525
5a + 3.75c = 1300

We get 1.25c = 225, or c = 180.

There were 180 childrens' tickets and 125 adult tickets.
