Question 1124197: Find three consecutive even integers for which three times the smallest one is the same as 6 less than the sum of the two larger ones.
I set up the formula as
x=smallest integer
x+2 next integer
x+4 next consecutive integer
So I set up the problem as 3x=6-(x+2)+(x+4)
Where did I go wrong here?

.
The correct equation is

3x = (x+2)+(x+4) - 6.
