Question 1124089: How you draw the circumcircle of an isosceles right triangle having 6 cm as the length of the equal sides?
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! i believe you need to find the circumcenter of the right triangle.
here's a definition from the web.
One of several centers the triangle can have, the circumcenter is the point where the perpendicular bisectors of a triangle intersect. The circumcenter is also the center of the triangle's circumcircle - the circle that passes through all three of the triangle's vertices.
if your triangle has two sides that are 6 cm, then the circumcenter will be the point that is the intersection of the perpendicular bisector of all 3 sides.
i graphed a right triangle with a vertex at (0,0), (0,6), and (6,0).
the perpendicular bisector of the line segment from (0,0) to (6,0) is the line x = 3
the perpendicular bisector of the line segment from (0,0) to (0,6) is the line y = 3.
the perpendicular bisector of the line segment from (0,6) to (6,0) is the line y = x.
the circumcenter is at the point (3,3).
here's the graph.
