Question 112378: I need help with this word problem please, don't know how to start off the equation. Any help is appreciated.
A concrete driveway measures 18 yards by 4 yards. The driveway will be 0.5 yards thick. (a) How many cubic yards of concrete will be needed? (b) How much will it cost if concrete is $3.50 per cubic yard?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
volume=length*width*thickness
vol=18*4*.5=36 yd^3
36*3.50=$126 is the cost of the concrete.
