A semicircular window of radius 15 inches is to be laminated with a sunblock coating that costs $.85 per square inch to apply what is the total cost of coating the window, to the nearest cent?
I think this is the equation, could you let me know if this is correct: A = 3.14(15)^2
Thanks, Jessie.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The equation A=3.14%2815%29%5E2 represents the area of the whole circle. We only want half of the circle. So divide the total area by 2 to get A=3.14%2815%29%5E2%2F2

A=3.14%2815%29%5E2%2F2 Start with the given equation

A=3.14%28225%29%2F2 Square 15 to get 225

A=706.5%2F2 Multiply 3.14 and 225 to get 706.5

A=353.25 Divide

So the area of the semicircular window is 353.25 sq in

Now multiply 353.25 by 0.85 to find out how much it will cost to coat the window

353.25%2A0.85=300.2625

So it will cost around $300.26 to coat the window
