You can put this solution on YOUR website!
distance=rate*time
D=40*t1
D=70*t2
t2=t1-6
Therefore, 40*t1=70(t1-6)
40t1=70t1-420
420=30t1
t1=14 hours
distance is therefore 40*14=560 km ANSWER
6 hours fewer is 8 hours and 70*8=560 km

Let D be the distance
Then we get the following TIME equation: matrix%281%2C3%2C+D%2F40%2C+%22=%22%2C+D%2F70+%2B+6%29
7D = 4D + 1,680 ------ Multiplying by LCD, 280
7D - 4D = 1,680
3D = 1,680
D, or distance = highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C4%2C+%221%2C680%22%2F3%2C+%22=%22%2C+560%2C+km%29%29
