Question 1121114: what is the linear equation that has a line that passes through (1,-4) and has a slope that is undefined?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
An undefined slope means the line is vertical. That means its equation is x=C for some constant C.
Since the line passes through (1,-4) and the equation is x=C for some constant C, that constant must be 1.
The equation is x=1.

SERIOUSLY, Josmiceli!!! An equation with an UNDEFINED SLOPE is y = - 4?
Anyway, the answer is
That's all that there is to it! An equation that contains AN UNDEFINED slope is: x = WHATEVER the x-coordinate is!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Undefined means parallel to the y-axis.
That's usually called vertical, but if you rotate the graph paper 90 degs, it's horizontal.
---------
Also, in 3-space - x, y & z - the z-axis is usually vertical.
Parallel to the y-axis is always correct in 2-space.
