A certain number of women can do a job in 50 days.If 12 more are added, the whole job can be done in 8 days less. How many women are there initially?

The job can be completed by x women working 50 days, or by (x+12) women working 50-8=42 days. So

50(x) = 42(x+12)
50x = 42x+504
8x = 504
x = 63

Answer: Initially there are 63 women.

Check:
63*50 = 3150
75*42 = 3150
