a)  x^10-x^8-2x^4-1 = x^10 - (x^8 +2x^4 + 1) = x^10 - (x^4+1)^2 = 


    = (x^5 - (x^4+1))*(x^5 + (x^4+1)) = (x^5 - x^4 - 1)*(x^5 + x^4 + 1).
