You can put this solution on YOUR website! mrs. down bought a total of 54 + 81 = 135.
that's the discount price.
if the regular price was x, then the discount price was x - .10 * x = .9 * x.
therefore .9 * x = 135.
solve for x to get x = 135 / .9 = 150.
the total original price of both items was 150.
the total price was discounted 10%, therefore, the total discounted price is 150 - .10 * 150 = 150 - 15 = 135.
