A right prism has a square base and a lateral edge 8cm. Find the highlight%28cross%28are%29%29 area of the base if the lateral area is 96 cm squared.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Under given conditions, the prism has four lateral faces of equal area.
So, the area of each lateral face is  96%2F4 = 24 cm^2.
Then the base edge length is  24%2F8 = 3 cm,  and the base area is  3*3 = 9 cm^2.
Solved.
