If you will complete the square and put into other form, you can easily read the zeros and the vertex.

Alternatively you can find the zeros from general formula.

Zeros:
%28-4%2B-+sqrt%2816-4%2A2%29%29%2F2

%28-4%2B-+sqrt%288%29%29%2F2

%28-4%2B-+2%2Asqrt%282%29%29%2F2

-2%2B-+sqrt%282%29
--
And you can see that vertex is at -2.
