You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
0.1x + 0.08*(24000-x) = 2280

0.1x + 0.08*24000 - 0.08x = 2280

0.02x = 2280 - 0.08*24000 = 360  ====>  x = 360%2F0.02 = 18000.

Answer. 18000 dollars invested at 10% and the rest, 24000-18000= 6000 dollars was invested at 8%.

Check.  0.1*18000 + 0.08*6000 = 2280  dollars.   ! Correct !
