The probability that the boy  will not pass the exam is  1-0.7 = 0.3.


The probability that the girl will not pass the exam is  1-0.6 = 0.4.


The probability that both of them will not pass the exam is  0.3*0.4 = 0.12.


The probability that at least one of them will pass the exam is the complement  1 - 0.12 = 0.88.


Answer.  The probability under the question is  1 - (1-0.7)*(1-0.6) = 0.88.
