You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Martha does 1%2F2 of the job per hour. It is her rate of work.

Brother does 1%2F6 of the job per hour. It is his rate of work.

Working together, they do 1%2F2 + 1%2F6 of the work per hour.

1%2F2 + 1%2F6 = 3%2F6 + 1%2F6 = 4%2F6 = 2%2F3.

So, working together they make 2%2F3 of the job per hour.

It means that it will take 3%2F2 hours for them to complete the job working together.

3%2F2 = 11%2F2 hours = 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Answer. It will take 3%2F2 hours = 1 hour and 30 minutes for them to complete the job working together.
