You can put this solution on YOUR website!
jack alan and sam had the same amount of money at first. Jack spent 32 dollars, alan 8 dollars and sam 24 dollars. The amount alan had left was 4 times the amount jack had left and twice the amount that sam had left. How much did the 3 of them have left.
----
Start:: each had "x" amount
----
Then
Jack had x-32
Alan had x-8
Sam had x-24
----
Equation::
x-8 = 4(x-32)
x-8 = 2(x-24)
-----
Equation::
4(x-32) = 2(x-24)
4x-128 = 2x-48
2x = 80
x = 40
---
Ans:
Jack had x-32 = 40-32 = $8 left
Alan had x-8 = 40-8 = $32 left
Sam had x-24 = 40-24 = $16 left
------------
