You can put this solution on YOUR website!
24 = 1*2*2*2*3
Possible integer solutions:
(1) {2, 3, 4 }
(2) { 1, 4, 6 }
(3) { 1, 3, 8 }
etc.
Based on the eldest starting playgroup/school (which I interpret as "pre-school"), the most likely solution is
{2,3,4}

He took it to be play school, but that's not 'real' school.
So I took it to be real school:

Their ages could be:

1,1, and 24 <--ruled out, eldest too old to start school.
1,2, and 12 <--ruled out, eldest too old to start school.
1,3, and 8 <--ruled out, eldest too old to start school.
1,4, and 6 <--possible, kids usually start school at 6.
2,2, and 6 <--possible, kids usually start school at 6.
               Nothing says the younger two can't be twins.
2,3, and 4 <--ruled out, eldest too young to start school.

So there are two possible answers. 1,4 and 6 and 2,2,and 6.
