You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
1. The set {woman OR unemployed} is equal to the set {women + unemployed man}.

The last set is the union of two disjoint sets, which is easier to analyse.

2. From the condition, there are 300 = 900 - 600 women in the town.

    The number of unemployed man is 600 - 300 = 300.

3. So, the set {women + unemployed man} consists of 300 + 300 = 600 persons.

    Now the probability under the question = (women + unemploeyed man)/(total population) = 600%2F900 = 2%2F3.
