-3 < 5-2x < 9  ====>  subtract 5 from each term


-8 < - 2x < 4  ======>  divide by (-2) each term.

                        Change each inequality sign to the opposite one

4 > x > -2.


Answer.  The solution is the set  -2 < x < 4,  or,  in the interval form, the set  (-2,4).
