if t is complementary to s, then t + s = 90.

since both t and s are less than 90 degrees each, then they are both acute angles.

if t is supplementary to u, then t + u = 180.

since t is less than 90, then u must be greater than 90 and less than 180.

that makes u an oblique angle.
