Question 1107486: out of 500 college students, 200 are taking English, 225 are taking Math, and 200 are taking neither. How many students are taking Math but not English? Show how you figure it out Answer by ikleyn(52873) (Show Source):
There is NOTHING more easy.
Since out of 500 students 200 are taking nothing, hence, 500 - 200 = 300 are taking something, i.e Math or English.
Of these 300 subtract 200 who take English, and you will get 100 who take only Math.
