Question 1107478: a) The ratio of similitude of two similar triangles is 3:4. If the perimeter of the larger triangle is 84m, what is the perimeter of the smaler triangle?
b)The lengths of the corresponding sides of two similar triangles are 32cm and 160 cm. If the area of the larger triangle is 160 cm sq., what is the area of the smaller triangle?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
perimeter will remain in the 3:4 ratio, so the perimeter of 84 for larger, 3:4=x:84
x=63m for smaller
For a triangle, the area is (1/2)bh
both b and h will each be (1/5) of the larger triangle
Their product is (1/25), so the area will be 1/25 of the area or 160/25 or 6.4 cm^2.
