You can put this solution on YOUR website! Algebraically determine the domain of y=-2 sqrt x^2-4+1
----------------------------
x^2-4x+1 must be >= 0
-------
If x^2-4x+1 = 0, x = [-4+-sqrt(16-4)]/2 =[-4+-2sqrt(3)]/2 = -2+-sqrt(3)
x is approximately -2+1.73 = 0.27 or x is approximately -3.73
--------
Ans:: Domain is all x <= -2-sqrt(3) and all x >=-2+sqrt(3)
-------------
Cheers,
