For the water solution it is the same as "weight to weight" (since water density is 1 g/mL).


Therefore 36 = 0.08*x,  which implies  x = 36%2F0.08 = 3600%2F8 = 450 gram of solution = 450 mL of the solution.


Answer.  450 gram of solution, or 450 mL of the solution.
