You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The total of the first 5 must be 170 for the average to be 34. average=total/n
the total of the last 5 must be 140.
That means the first number is 30 more than the last number, because when it is replaced with the last number, the total decreases 30
call the first number x
x-30=14
x=44
The first number is 44.

Out of six numbers, the average of first five is 34 and
that of the last five is 28.
If last number is 14 then first number is
:
a, b , c, d, e, 14
let x = (b+c+d+e)
;
" Out of six numbers,the average of first five is 34"
%28a%2Bx%29%2F5 = 34
multiply by 5
a + x = 170
:
"that of the last five is 28."
%28x%2B14%29%2F5 = 28
x + 14 = 140
x = 140 - 14
x = 126
In the first equation replace x with 126
a + 126 = 170
a = 170 - 126
a = 44 is the first number
