You can put this solution on YOUR website! bookshelf is 110 centimeters high and will contain 4 rows of books.
each shelf will be 55 centimeters long.
the planks of wood cost 3 pounds per meter and can be bought in lengths of 250 centimeters.
the planks are 5 centimeters wide and 2 centimeters thick.
1 meter equals 100 centimeters.
the cost of 3 pounds per meter is equal to .03 pounds per centimeter.
the boards are sold in lengths of 250 centimeters.
you want to know how many boards of wood will be needed for the 2 sides of the shelf.
the sides of the shelf are each 110 centimeters in length for a total of 220 centimeters.
220 centimeters is less than 250 centimeters, so only 1 board needs to be bought, since 250 centimeters is longer than 220 centimeters.
the cost will be 250 * .03 = 7.5 pounds.
since all you wanted to know was how much for the 2 sides of the shelf, 7.5 pounds appears to be your answer.
