L      + W + L      + W = 12


(2W-1) + W + (2W-1) + W = 12


6W - 2 = 12  ====>  6W = 12+2 = 14  ====>  W = 14%2F6 = 7%2F3 cm.


Answer.  W = 7%2F3 cm,  L = 14%2F3-1 = 11%2F3 cm.
