You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm looking to find any asymptotes and holes in the graph of a rational function below:
f(x) = (x^2 + 2x + 1)/(2x^2 - x - 3)
----
Factor to get:
f(x) = [(x+1)^2]/[(2x-3)(x+1)]
-----
When 2x-3 = 0, x = 3/2 is a vertical asymptote.
When x+1 = 0, x = -1 is a hole.
-------
