You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Intersection of a parabola and a straight line,
Use substitution,
9x%2B2%28x%2B2%29%5E2=-22
9x%2B2%28x%5E2%2B4x%2B4%29=-22
9x%2B2x%5E2%2B8x%2B8=-22
2x%5E2%2B17x%2B30=0
%282x%2B5%29%28x%2B6%29=0
Two solutions:
2x%2B5=0
2x=-5
x=-5%2F2
and
x%2B6=0
x=-6
Now use either equation to solve for the corresponding y value for each x value.
